What could be more fun, more useful or easier to grow than sunflowers? Children love them because of their height and their sunny faces, they attract bees and other insects to the garden, they feed the birds in the winter, some varieties make excellent cut flowers and they can create annual windbreaks or screens for unsightly sheds or fences.
