Petunia pendula 'Balcony'

Our Price

£0.60

Quantity:
1 packet (200 seeds)
This gem first appeared in gardening catalogues in the 1930's and seemed to get lost in the rush to breed petunias with larger, showier blooms. The flowers are smaller but more numerous and longer lasting than those of modern varieties and have the added bonus of being sweetly scented, particularly in the evening. The plants have a naturally branching habit and produce trailing shoots. This makes them ideal for use in hanging baskets, window boxes and the edges of larger containers. The attractive colour range includes shades of lavender, white, pink and purple.

Sowing Instructions

Sow from February to May on the surface of moist seed compost and firm down gently. Do not cover seeds or exclude light. Place in propagator or seal inside a polythene bag until germination. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 3ins pots and grow on. Harden off before planting out after last frosts.
