Viola cornuta "Bambini Mixed'

These dainty violas are equally suitable for spring or summer flowering and produce a multitude of blooms in a wide colour range which includes apricot, blue, yellow, pink, bronze, red and lavender. All have 'whiskered' faces. They are ideal for edging, rockeries, tubs and window boxes. (6ins)

Sowing Instructions

Sow 1.5mm deep in trays of good seed compost. Exclude light as darkness is benefitial to germination. Keep the compost moist and avoid high temperatures. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 3ins pots and grow on in cooler conditions. For summer flowers, sow in late winter or spring and plant out 9ins apart in spring. For flowering in late winter and spring, sow in summer and plant out in autumn. Sun or partial shade.
