This was bred by the company (Cygnet PB) which owns what is left of the Maris setup. The breeding is still done in the Cambridge area but much of the trialing and selection is done at the company base in Scotland. Cabaret is an attractive Maris Piper type. It is certainly productive, has good flavour and has a little more disease resistant than Piper.
