This ageing PBI canning variety has had a major revival because of the increased demand for small, uniform, well flavoured salad/ boiling potatoes. Restaurants love their reliable firmness. The plants need to be grown close together and kept well earthed up to obtain the desired results. Peer is perhaps the most attractive potato plant known, with good domed symmetry and very strong purple flowers - ideal for container growing. A summer walk through a field of scented Peer flowers beats even the clichéd sunflower fantasy! This sample is certified organic on the farm but we have no licence to repack it as organic.
