This was Archibald Findlay’s swansong. Catriona can have beautiful splashes of blue/ purple round the eyes and is still used for exhibition purposes. The tubers can be bold, with excellent flavour and cooking characteristics if eaten fresh. Clean ground and good growing conditions are needed to obtain the best results – Catriona does not like any sort of “check”.
