A C.T.Spence of Dunbar variety which won the Lord Derby medal in the 1930s. One of the very best dry, floury varieties in terms of flavour but it is rare. A few years ago I found after working seriously hard all day on a remote farm that the only food available was a few Dunbar Rover tubers - boiled with salt and butter they made one of the best meals I ever experienced.
