Our Price

£0.50

Quantity:
1 packet (40 seeds)
The artichoke is a perennial vegetable which produces statuesque plants (up to 2m. tall) with attractive thistle-like foliage. Green Globe has fewer spines than other varieties and provides heavy crops of medium sized, globe shaped flower buds which should be picked just before they open. Once open, the large purple flowers will attract bees and butterflies to the garden.

Sowing Instructions

Sow in growing position in mid spring. Sow 2 or 3 seeds in stations 12ins apart and thin to strongest seedling. Final spacing should be 2-3 ft. apart. Thinnings can be transplanted. Can also be sown under glass for earlier cropping. Sow in individual pots of moist seed compost and harden off before planting out after all danger of frost has passed.
