This colourful and productive Swiss Chard has purple-green leaves and rich claret coloured stalks. The vitamin-packed leaves can be used as an alternative to spinach while the tasty, red mid-ribs should be chopped, cooked like asparagus and served with melted butter.
Sowing Instructions
Sow in spring for a summer/autumn crop or in late summer for an autumn/ spring crop. Sow very thinly 1in. deep in rows 12ins apart. Gradually thin out seedlings to 9ins apart. Harvest leaves as required by snapping the stalks near the base of the plant.
