This is an SCRI Pink Fir Apple x Charlotte cross. Retro breeding in the Anya mould looking for flavour.Initial taste trials are very favourable and yield is good but disease resistance is on the low side. Dry matter is surprisingly high.
*At the moment our supplier has refused us stock because we are based in Scotland and all Harlequin is English grown. There is a theoretical chance that it has been in contact with Continental material from endemic Brown Rot/ Ring Rot areas. The Scottish trade is trying to establish secure "Safe Haven" status. We are looking into the situation but in the meantime have secured supplies of sister variety, Moulin Rouge direct from the Scottish grower at a keen price.*
