This unusual Aquilegia originated in New Mexico and first appeared in seed catalogues in the mid 1800s. Its soft, ferny foliage contrasts sharply with the vibrancy of the flowers which have bright orange spurs and petals and deep yellow skirts. It is exceptonally long flowering with new blooms often appearing well into autumn. (15-18ins)

Sowing Instructions

Sow from February to June in moist seed compost and seal in polythene bag until germination which can take up to 35 days. Transplant into pots when seedlings are large enough to handle. Plant 12ins apart in flowering position during autumn. Will grow in sun or partial shade.
