'Chioggia' is an Italian heritage variety with dark green leaves and red stems. The globe shaped roots have pink skins and sweet, tender flesh with concentric rings of pink and white. Wonderful in salads or served as a hot vegetable.
Sowing Instructions
Sow very thinly from spring to early summer 1in deep in rows 12ins apart. Thin out to 4ins apart. If this is done gradually, later thinnings can be used in salads. Lift mature roots in mid autumn and store in a clamp.
