Peachbloom

This is a round, late maincrop, part-red coloured with deep eyes. It is American and probably dates from the 1850s to 1880s when ther was a profusion of such varieties. It may well be the same variety as "Peachblow" introduced to Britain in 1881. The flesh is white and said to be tender and sweet. The variety is of interest because the skin surface has a remarkable bloom or shine.
