Sweetcorn 'Mirai Bicolour'

This attractive bicolour was described at recent R.H.S. trials as being 'very tender with exceptional flavour'. The strong plants produce large golden cobs liberally sprinkled with white kernels. Can be eaten cooked or raw.

Sowing Instructions

Germinate in April in individual 3ins pots. Sow 1cm deep in moist seed compost and place in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag until germination. Plant out 18ins apart in blocks after all risk of frost has passed. Needs fertile soil and a sunny position. If, like us, you live in an area where summer temperatures are not always high enough to produce a successful sweetcorn crop, try planting them in a block 12ins apart in a cool greenhouse or polytunnel. Sweetcorn are wind pollinated so shake the plants daily once tassels have formed.
