Large, glossy, dark purple leaves and cerise pink flowers make this an attractive subject for flower borders and patio containers as well as for herb gardens. This is
one of the best basil varieties for flavouring oils and vinegar. Bees love it.
Sowing Instructions
Sow in March in trays of seed compost, lightly covering the seeds. Seal inside a polythene bag until seedlings emerge. Transplant into 3ins pots when they are large enough to handle. When well grown, gradually harden off before planting out in sheltered position after last frosts. In cooler, more northerly areas the plants can be grown on in larger pots and placed in a window sill, greenhouse or coldframe.
