Limnanthes Douglasii (Poached Egg Plant)

An easy to grow hardy annual, the Poached Egg Plant will provide a glorious carpet of fragrant, golden and white blooms from spring to late summer. It readily self seeds but is relatively easy to keep under control. It gives excellent weed-suppressing ground cover and attracts bees and other beneficial insects to the garden. Because they flower early and have a long season, they are an excellent companion plant for broad beans, attracting hoverflies and ladybirds which love to feed on blackfly. (6ins.)

Sowing Instructions

Sow outdoors in flowering position, 0.5cm deep, from March to May. Keep soil moist and thin out to 4ins apart as necessary. Prefers a sunny position.
