Beauty of Bute was formerly in our Conservation Potatoes section. It is an early maincrop - round, part coloured white/ reddish purple, with fairly deep eyes. it is said to have been bred by a Mr Heron on Bute around 1890. Once fairly common in Ireland where its white, flouriness was appreciated.
