One of the most useful culinary herbs, English Thyme can be used to add flavour to soups, stews, stuffing and as a bouquet garni ingredient. The aromatic, evergreen plants will grow in borders, rockeries, containers and even paving cracks. Great for tough groundcover and for attracting bees and other pollinating insects.
Sowing Instructions
Sow from February to April on the surface of damp seed compost. Do not cover the seeds. Seal inside a polythene bag until germination occurs. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 3ins pots and when well grown, harden off before planting out after last frosts. They grow best in poor, well drained soil in full sun.
