Postage

Most UK seed foil orders will be packed in air bubble protected envelopes and sent by standard Royal Mail Second Class mail as soon as we can manage - usually that day or within 3 days at worst. We usually post them at the local Post Office and obtain proof of postage. A service charge of 99p is added to all UK orders of seed foils. Very rarely ordinary mail goes missing and if you have not received your order within 8 days please email us to let us know. We send seed orders to most EU countries by Euro small packet airmail but these can take several days to arrive and are more expensive. Very occasionally seed foils may be sent with potatoes if we are up to date with potato orders.

Seed potatoes are sent by either FedEx or Royal Mail from December on. We aim to clear potato orders taken from September to December by the end of January, weather permitting. In recent years January weather has been poor.

When we reach your order, orders up to 12kg are wrapped in bubble wrap and plastic and sent on a next day service. Orders over 12kg and under 24kg are packed in a recycled cardboard box and sent by economy 2-3 day service. Most mainland Scottish Highland orders are sent on 2-5 day service.

Most UK potato orders are charged at £7.30 for each order up to 24kg and will be sent using FedEx. However, potatoes sent to Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands (including parts of Aberdeenshire) and all Islands will cost more and may be sent by Royal Mail. The exact cost will be advised during the checkout process before card payment is made. Seed potato orders from several EU countries will be sent by FedEx; again charges will be notified before card payment is made - these are high relative to the cost of seed potatoes but less than in previous years. Not all EU countries are covered by our FedEx contract and are impossibly expensive in our opinion.
